Saturday Feb 9 at noon we have a volunteer showing off Kings of War. If you’d like to stop by and see a new miniatures game in action, feel free.
Monday Feb 4th, Dapper D8 presents DO: PILGRIMS OF THE FLYING TEMPLE a game published by Evil Hat Productions and written and designed by the incredible Daniel Solis. This game (and event) is kid-friendly!
Do: Pilgrims of the Flying Temple is a slapstick fantasy storytelling game about helping people and getting into trouble. You tell the story of young travelers who mean well, but spend most of their time getting into trouble. You use your creativity and strategy to create a humorous coming of age story. It’s like a comedic crossover between Avatar: the Last Airbender, the Little Prince and Kino’s Journey.
In Do, your stories are set in a universe of open, endless skies. Many tiny worlds orbit around the Flying Temple in the center of the universe. When a worldly person has a problem, they write a letter to the temple asking for help. The temple elders send young monks-in-training on a Pilgrimage, with a stack of letters in-hand. The pilgrims are given a simple mission: “Leave this world with fewer problems than you found.” Your stories are about the pilgrims helping people, but causing new troubles in the process.
Dapper D8 games are social events, a place where gamers from the area can gather together and hang out, trade stories, and build new friendships. While you shoot the breeze with friends new and old ……you’ll have your pick of delicious home-cooked foods of all kinds to nibble on, prepared for you by our volunteer chefs.
Every month we will be presenting you with a new roleplaying game to try out for the first time with knowledgeable and personable GMs, men and women that have worked hard to tailor an event built for newcomers and old hands both. That’s a new game every month for you to sample. You’ll get to play both the next big things as well as those independent gems that you may not have noticed before. You don’t even need to bring your dice bag because we’ll bring all of the supplies.
All this, and it’s even completely free! Free food, free gaming, and a lovely space to meet with friends and talk about your favorite hobby. Sounds pretty great, doesn’t it?
Everything kicks off at 6:30 PM and will run until 9 PM.
We hope to see you there!
