World Wide Catan Championships Pre-Qualifier

We just added more prizes!

On March 10th we will be running a Pre-Qualifier for World Wide Catan Championship. Winner will receive a free trip to Origins (in Columbus, Ohio May 30-June 3, 2012) to play in the Qualifier. Once there, they can attempt to win a trip to the Championship being held this year in Blue Bell.

$15 per player to enter. Winner will be reimbursed up to $200 for travel expense. Attendance at Origins will be paid for by Mayfair Games. Pre-registration for this event is strongly encouraged. Either leave a comment here, or stop in the store to add your name.

The tournament will start at noon and we expect it to end around 6PM.

We would appreciate players that own the game to bring out their set in case our turn-out is greater than expected.

Coldest Reprints

Today we got in some new things including Nightfall: Coldest War and the L5R Emperor Edition Starter Decks.

We also got in a bunch of board games that fell out of print and Abacus Spiele has just republished, including Zooloretto Mini, China, Hansa, and Valdora.

So far we have had 7 players earn points in the Warmachine League for War Torn Alliances. The cost is $5 to join. Special rules are posted on the Warmachine site.

Note that this Sunday we’ll be running the Domination Release Event and our Pressganger will be available to answer any questions and what not.

Saturday at noon we will be running the L5R Emperor Edition Release Event. Details TBA.

A reminder, each time you teach a board game at the store, bring the receipt for the game to the counter. If it is not listed on our blog then we’ll mark the receipt and give you a 20% discount on the next board game you buy.

Apparently, starting the Magic Draft on Wednesday at 6:30 is failing us. Starting this week, we are pushing it back to 7:00 sharp.

The Future

AEG has contacted us about a Thunderstone Advanced pre-release game day. Most likely this will be on Mar 3. Anyone that plays will get a free mini-expansion.

On March 5th we will be starting our Flames of War Escalation league. Battlefront will be releasing new rule sheets soon and we’ll post them when we get them. We still have some of the new mini-rules available for free, just bring in your old rules to get your sticker.

1st Edition AD&D reprint

Monday we start the Warmachine League for War Torn Alliances. The cost is $5 to join. Special rules are posted on the Warmachine site.

This Saturday we will have a Wyrd Henchman demoing Malifaux starting at noon. We’ve had a number of players buy in to the game recently. If you can’t make it on Saturday, feel free to stop in Tuesday night for our regular event.

For our Flames of War players, we have the new mini-rules available. Bring in your old rules to get your sticker.

We have 6 of the upgrade rulebooks – we will be getting another 12 on Monday. 9 people have requested them. So, we’ll give them out to the first 6 of 9 that asks for them, the rest will have to wait until Monday.
