Friday June 7th is the release day for Magic The Gathering’s Modern Masters. It is also the day of our first Modern Masters Draft.

Continuing their trend of switching things up a bit, they’ve decided for June’s event, to do some more boardgaming, and what better choice than the biggest “gateway” games of them all, Settlers of Catan!
In Settlers of Catan, players try to be the dominant force on the island of Catan by building settlements, cities, and roads. On each turn dice are rolled to determine what resources the island produces. Players collect these resources to build up their civilizations to get to 10 victory points and win the game.
Featured last year on Wil Wheaton’s Tabletop, Settlers has won multiple awards and is one of the most popular games in recent history due to its amazing ability to appeal to non-gamers and gamers alike.
They’ll be running several tables of Settlers, each table highlighting the core game and it’s numerous expansions.
Dapper D8 games are social events, a place where gamers from the area can gather together and hang out, trade stories, and build new friendships. While you shoot the breeze with friends new and old ……you’ll have your pick of delicious home-cooked foods of all kinds to nibble on, prepared for you by our volunteer chefs.
All this, and it’s even completely free! Free food, free gaming, and a lovely space to meet with friends and talk about your favorite hobby. Sounds pretty great, doesn’t it?
Everything kicks off at 6:30 PM and will run until 9 PM.

Sunday, June 23rd; registration starts at 11:00am, dice start rolling at 12:00pm.
* Prizes: Coins for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
* Fee: $5
* Army Lists: 35 points. You may bring two lists, but it is not required.
* Number of Rounds: 3-4, depending on turn out.
* Round/Turn lengths: We will be using the standard Steamroller 2013 round/turn timings: a base round length of 70 minutes +/- (d3x3), with turn limits of seven minutes and one three minute extension.
* Scoring: We will use SOS as tiebreaker for final standings.
* Scenarios: 2013 Steamroller scenarios
* Painting: No painting requirement.
June 16th at 6PM we will be hosting a liver performance of the nerd folk band The Doubleclicks!

Saturday June 29th, we will be holding our next Munchkin Tournament! Buy-in is a $5 gift card. Prizes based on attendance.
We’ll be drafting from the entire Emperor Edition run on June 1st at noon!
